The Vision:

In these uncertain times our youth are faced with challenges way beyond anything we may have experienced growing up.  They are living in the aftermath of 9/11, an unstable economy, a surge of violence and little reason to pursue their dreams. With fewer and fewer jobs available for parents, let alone young adults – there seems little cause for HOPE…

So many are just trying to survive; in fact only 55% of students graduate from high school.  In 2008 the high school dropout rate amounted to 1.2 million teens according to the US Department of Education.   What type of future are we creating for our youth?  What opportunities do we have for them?  In this global economy, jobs that used to be in the US are now being filled in India.  In India children go to school 6 days per week while children in the US don’t even show up.  How can we expect our youth to even qualify for a job?

Many of us have grown up with the words of Les Brown, Jim Rohn, Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Tony Robbins to inspire and teach us.  We learned from teachers and mentors like Bucky Fuller, Napoleon Hill, Martin Luther King, Alan Dohrmann and his son Berny Dohrmann. They have encouraged us to fulfill our dreams and build the kind of life that only an entrepreneur can create.  However, that generation of motivators and mentors is dwindling and retiring. Who is ready to carry the torch of the future generations?   John-Leslie Brown is identifying and creating the next generation of speakers by proclaiming… YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO CARRY THE TORCH!

Teens are no longer inspired by motivational speakers of yesterday. In order to reach them we must speak the language that they are listening to. If Nelson Mandela said read every day to improve your destiny the youth may not respond, but if Jay-Z said it they would rush to do his bidding…  They hear music and memorize the words and yet many cannot pass a simple test in school as they do not remember the point of the lessons. John-Leslie Brown touches the heart and inspires the minds of our children through motivational principals in Hip Hop form.

Our Mission:

It is now time to focus on solutions. A New Generation Motivation will bridge the gap between motivational speakers and mentors of today and the aspiring entrepreneurs of tomorrow.  We will recapture the attention and imagination of the next generation; our future and our children’s future will depend on it.
